ECHO Committee to Meet with Applicants Aug. 13

The Volusia County Environmental, Cultural, Historic, and Outdoor Recreation (ECHO) Advisory Committee will meet at the ECHO grant applicants’ project sites on Thursday, Aug. 13.

There will be a presentation and an opportunity for questions during each site visit at the following times and locations:

  • 8:30 a.m.: City of Ormond Beach – Sports Complex Softball Quad Field Improvements, 700 Hull Road, Ormond Beach
  • 9:15 a.m.: City of Holly Hill – Ross Point Heritage Park & Scenic Observation Pier, 611 Riverside Drive, Holly Hill
  • 9:50 a.m.: City of Daytona Beach – Harvey Avenue Boardwalk Extension & Beach Access Improvements, 41 S. Ocean Ave., Daytona Beach
  • 10:30 a.m.: Museum of Arts & Sciences – The Brown Public Site Amenities, 352 S. Nova Road, Daytona Beach
  • 11:10 a.m.: City of Port Orange – Willow Run Park Improvements, 1351 Schoolhouse Drive, Port Orange
  • 11:40 a.m.: Volusia Flagler Family YMCA – Port Orange Family YMCA Playground Project, 4701 City Center Parkway, Port Orange
  • 1:15 p.m.: Marine Discovery Center – Phase IV Project (Education Center and Dock), 520 Barracuda Blvd., New Smyrna Beach
  • 2:05 p.m.: City of Edgewater – Edgewater New Boat Ramps & Amenities, 150 Legendary Way, Edgewater
  • 3:15 p.m.: Conservation Florida – D Ranch Preserve Nature Center, 2655 Reed Ellis Road, Osteen
  • 4 p.m.: City of DeBary – Community Park Splash Pad Project, 137 S. Highway 17-92, DeBary

Applicants will attend a mandatory eligibility meeting at 5 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Volusia County Historic Courthouse, Room 202, 125 W. New York Ave., DeLand.

The presentations and eligibility meeting are open to the public. Interested individuals may access the agenda packet, grant applications, and live audio and video of the eligibility meeting starting at 5 p.m. Aug. 13 at www.volusia.org/echo-committee.

ECHO grants are provided through a competitive application process annually and are for the purpose of acquiring, restoring, constructing or improving environmental, cultural, historic, and outdoor recreation facilities that are open for public access and use. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) not-for-profit groups that have a local office in Volusia County, municipal governments within Volusia County, and departments of Volusia County Government.

Written comments regarding the agenda may be emailed to jmarcum@volusia.org or by letter to Jill Marcum, 123 W. Indiana Ave., Room 200, DeLand, FL 32720. Comments received by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, will be presented to the committee and become part of the public record. Please include your name, address, and “ECHO Advisory Committee public participation” in your correspondence.
